Tigran celebrated his birthday to the sounds of explosions from Rashist shells. The mother made her son a cake in a pan in order to somehow create a festive mood and distract the child from the destruction around him.
This is the second time the family leaves their home because of the war. Then, in 2014, Oksana refused to live in the self-proclaimed "LNR" and moved to Novodruzhesk. Here she had a beautiful son, a home and faith in the future. Now this newly created warm world was being destroyed again because of the "Russian world".
The family's house was badly damaged by the debris: the windows were blown out, the floor was tilted, and there are now three-centimeter cracks all over the building... On top of that, Oksana saw with her own eyes how the mine in which she worked burned down due to shelling.
But the woman's heart ached for her son the most. She wanted so much for him a happy childhood with walks and games, instead of living in a cellar in constant fear. Therefore, 36-year-old Oksana was forced to make a choice for the second time. And she chose life again, not only for herself - but for her son.
Volunteers of our partner hub in Luhansk region helped the family to safely reach their relatives in another city. Unfortunately, Oksana's old mother-in-law refused to leave the house, so a part of this family remained there.
