We installed a modular house for a family from Donetsk region!

The first day of summer...this phrase evokes many pleasant, warm associations. But not for the Khilko couple and their two daughters, who woke up that day at 5 a.m. from the whistling of rockets and a powerful explosion. An enemy shell hit a neighbor's house directly. The blast wave quickly reached the family's house: it blew out all the windows and damaged the roof.

Then 14-year-old Daryna and her 16-year-old sister Nastya were very scared. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, their area in south of Slovyansk has become a frequent target for enemy shelling, and the girls have more than once seen rockets flying over the house. Sirens sounded here around the clock. This affect the psychological state of the children: every danger moment caused the sisters panic fear and a desire to hide.

The "arrival" in the neighboring house forced the Khilko family to leave their home. However, for the next two months, Nastya and Daryna had nightmares, they were jerked by loud noises and felt anxious. Nowhere did the girls feel safe. According to the parents, it took a long time for the condition of the girls to more or less stabilize.

Recently, our team together with partners installed a comfortable house with two bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and a bathroom for this family. There is everything necessary (down to the smallest details) for the life of a family with children.

It is still difficult for Nastya and Daryna without friends and a familiar environment, but they have already continued distance learning at their own school and are feeling much better.

We really want this house to become for the girls the island of peace and safety they need so much!
