The main thing was not to go outside

Kyrylo and Timur Stasenko are already true heroes, young Cossacks, even though they are only 5 and 9 years old. They are now safe and on their way with their parents to one of our Hope and Recovery centers.

More recently, the brothers lived in the suburbs of the front-line Kostyantynivka, in the Donetsk region, and hid from enemy shelling every day. Victor's father tells how there was a missile strike just a few hundred meters from their house. And one day a shell fell right in their yard.

The family has already recognized to distinguish departures from arrivals. And as soon as the parents heard the departures from ours, they immediately rushed to the basement with their children, because the Russians immediately started shelling the houses of peaceful residents in response. While the firefight was going on, the main thing was not to go outside. Because that's how, due to her carelessness, their neighbor died, who went out into the yard during the shelling.

Not all adults can survive such events, but 9-year-old Kyrylo and 5-year-old Timur steadfastly survived the shelling, were not afraid, and even supported their beloved mom and dad. Fortunately, the family decided to evacuate and has already safely left their hometown.

"It hurts to leave, but my children and their lives are the most precious thing in the world to me," says mother Natalia with tears and holds her sons tightly to her.

Now the "Hope and Recovery" center is already waiting on the Stasenko family, where our specialists will take care of them and help them forget these horrors as soon as possible. We believe that delighted life awaits the family in a free Ukraine.
