In this photo - Mykola Kuleba with 13-year-old Sofia from Mykolayiv region and her family. Today, they are happy to have met for the first time since the start of a full-scale Russian invasion.
You probably already know Sonya from the news. On March 5, she and her mother sealed windows at home when facists dropped bombs on their village.
A fragment of a projectile hit the girl on the head. Just imagine: for almost 4 weeks Sonya lived with a fragment between the hemispheres of the brain.
Thanks to the team of Volodymyr Zhovnir and Pavel Plavsky from NCSH, Okhmatdyt(hospital)managed to get a fragment of the girl's head.
Sonya will have a long rehabilitation ahead of her. But we are sure that she will soon recover and be able to live a full life again.
We thank all the volunteers at “Save Ukraine” who worked hard to finally bring the family together. The founder of the Center, Mykola Kuleba, sheltered them in his own house until Sofia received all the necessary help from doctors.
